A good rule is to start with rice cereals because are gluten free and less allergenic than other foods. You should give first breast milk or formula and then try on the tip of the teaspoon cereals mixed with milk and take care to be semisolid.
If your baby doesn’t seem interested in it, let him smell it first, and let him get used with the idea. If he still doesn’t like it try it in a week or two. Maybe he will like it or he will hate it, respect your baby preferences.
Don’t feed your baby with solid fod from a bottle. Your baby has to distinguish between solid food and milk, and to associate it with his position. Solid food must be eaten wile sitting into a chair and not running or in front of the tv
After your baby is used with solids, add gradually each day another spoon of solid food and also increase the density
